DP Todd vs. Vanderhoof: WHO WILL WIN?

Hello friends and supporters of me, Robo Todd. On January 17th, our team will be facing off in a fiery competition, (the Skills BC Competition), against a senior robotics team from Vanderhoof.

We are competing at the regional level.The competition is the VEX highrise challenge. Basically, our VEX robots (that we built) will have to pick up blocks and stack them up.

So, the things that we will have to do to WIN are:

-bring a positive attitude :)

-make sure not to breathe on your tower or participants on the other team

-critical thinking skills are CRITICAL (haha :D) (last year at the FIRST Regional Competition in Calgary, we had to rebuild the climbing mechanism DURING THE COMPETITION - talk about stressful! Everything was okay in the end, though. :) haha)

-good teamwork! No, EXCELLENT teamwork! :) haha

So, who really is Vanderhoof? I know they are the geographical center of British Columbia, but that information doesn't help us win. We know that they are a senior robotics team, and we are only in our second year. Again, not helpful. But, we are the underdogs, and according to 20th century Fox, the underdogs always find a way.

So, in conclusion, the odds are against us. But when have we ever succumbed to the odds? The FORCE is with us. No wait - it is not just with us, it is WITHIN us. So we'll be looking forward to the competition on the 17th. I'll update you guys later.
